Sheri Bauer-Mayorga, Accompanist

Sheri Bauer-Mayorga is a pianist, vocalist, and educator who began singing with the core
group of Albany Pro Musica in 2010. A student of the piano and composition at the Hartt School of Music and Brooklyn Conservatory, she joined the village music scene originally as a pianist, playing and recording the works of modern composers. Her university piano mentors were John Cobb and Doris Hays.

As a singer she has studied with jazz and classical vocalists Jay Clayton, Anne Turner, and Jeannette LoVetri, songwriting and history of song with Alice Parker, and Kodaly studies at Westminster Choir College and Hartt.

Sheri recorded two eclectic vocal projects for TownHall Records: “On The Wrong Side Of The Railroad Tracks,” and “American Snapshots: 200 Years of American Song,” with her husband, pianist, Lincoln Mayorga. Sheri currently directs a community singing school for children, the Good Globe Singing School, leads the chorus at the Great Barrington Waldorf High School, and is jazz vocalist with The Berkshire Bop Society. On alternating Mondays you can hear her show, “The Monday Musical Matinee” on WGXC-90.7FM, a community radio station in Hudson, New York.
