In-School Workshops
For several years, Albany Pro Musica has been sending a small group of 10-15 singers to Albany High School to work with the Albany High choral groups. We usually take some time to sing for each other, to rehearse a piece currently in the choir’s repertory, and to work on a specific vocal technique together (long vowels, appropriate vocal warm-up, raised soft palates…)
In the 2008-2009 season we expanded this program to a full Artist in Residence Program with Albany High. We had 5 rehearsals over the course of the winter, culminating in a free concert at the Massry Center at the College of St. Rose. The program was such a success that we have continued this collaboration into our 2011-2012 season.
